3D Bird Model

It was the 8th time Amsterdam hosted the FITC Conference (FITC stands for Future. Innovation. Technology. Creativity.), February 23-24, 2015. FITC being a major event promoting the latest developments in design and technology, especially web development media and creative technologies. Digital creators, designers and renowned speakers share their experiences and expertise to conference attendees in an attempt to widen knowledge in design, development, creativity and technology, inspire them and present professional development and networking opportunities.

One topic was of great interest for me and not only for me as it proved to be a popular topic, the 3D-printing, the new, simple way to create physical objects through computer code. Here’s one example of how wonderful technology is and how it can create state of the art products, thanks to a creative mind. It’s like an architectural adaptation of the biological, isn’t it?

The 25 by 25 by 25 centimeters bird was created by the Canadian-born and Chinese-raised girl Sougwen Chung, an interdisciplinary artist defining her work as exploring the contrasts between various dichotomies such as human and machine and technology and emotion. Beautiful.
